What happened

After roughly six hours of maintenance, the WoW Forever Beta realms came back online on October 8. Along with the maintenance, a new build went live — the team posted full Development Notes and refreshed the Known Issues list.

Headlines

  • New dungeon — City of Dalaran (available for testing).
  • Dungeon experience increased by about 20%, plus a fix for the bug where grouping with higher-level players reduced XP for lower-level enemies. The calculation is reverted to Classic Era behavior: only the individual's level matters.
  • Weapon swaps within the same GCD work again — for example a macro from a two-hander to sword and shield in one global.
  • Cooldown Manager now supports all classes, racial abilities and trinkets (consumables coming in a later patch).
  • Legacy system: every beta player was granted Legacy Challenge completion and 16 Legacy Points for full testing. The cheapest Legacy re-spec costs 1s and drops by one re-spec per hour (beta only).
  • Rage is fixed: three bugs in Rage-from-damage (player health instead of creature health, combat multipliers, damage absorbs). Typical Warriors and Druids now gain Rage correctly; baseline was rebalanced to the 20–40% per level range.
  • PvP critical strikes no longer have reduced efficacy.

Classes (short)

  • Druid: crit Rage in Bear up to 100% (was 75%), Thorns returned to Vanilla values (spell power ratio 6%, was 13.3%), Cat Form no longer lowers max health, Bear threat bonus +50%, shapeshift-override interactions closer to Classic.
  • Hunter: Disengage finally reduces threat as intended, pets no longer gain health repeatedly at low health, Aggressive Mode is back in the pet tab.
  • Warrior: Deep Wounds is again required to reach Impale, Last Stand fixed, Demoralizing Shout now generates threat.
  • Priest/Shaman/Mage/Warlock: mass fixes for spell rank growth (a new rank is always an upgrade), Penance reworked.
  • Paladin: Retribution Aura back to Vanilla values (about a 33% base reduction), Reckoning gets a 1.5 second cooldown.

User interface

  • Voice chat can now be routed to Discord Voice under Audio settings (whole party follows the leader's setting).
  • An in-game voice mode can be chosen for Group Finder postings.
  • Inspect window, combo points, quest types and levels in the tracker updated.

Known issues (updated October 8)

  • Texture updates for Skyborne druid cat form, some Zephras Isle creatures, mounts and pets arrive in a future build.
  • Hunters with the Ferocity talent don't see pet crit chance on the character sheet — visual bug only.
  • Some Professions window icons appear broken.
