How data is collected

RealmPulse statistics are built from real encounters: players with the NearbySpy addon passively record the players they meet and send the data in.

How data reaches the stats

The NearbySpy addon writes the list of encountered players into the game SavedVariables file. The file is updated when you leave the game or run /reload — that is how collection works: the longer you play, the fuller the stats.

What is collected

Name, class, level, zone, realm, faction and the time of the last encounter for every player seen. All of it is public in-game data; passwords, coordinates and personal information are never sent.

Upload your data

You can upload the addon's SavedVariables file, NearbySpy.lua — it is shared across all characters on the account and appears after you leave the game or run /reload. Upload file →

Privacy

Only the name/class/level/zone/realm of encountered players is collected; no passwords, coordinates or personal data are sent. Names from chat channels also end up in the database — if that is unwanted, don't use the addon.
