Blizzard has published the raid overview for World of Warcraft: Forever. Three raids open on December 9, a month after launch — enough time to reach level 60 and prepare. All raids are planned to reset weekly.
The Barrow Deeps — 10 players
Beneath Mount Hyjal, with entrances from Hyjal, Winterspring and Blackmaw Hold. The prison that held Illidan Stormrage for 10,000 years opens its dark passages: 8 bosses await inside.
Hyjal Summit — 20 players
At the peak of Mount Hyjal near the World Tree Nordrassil. 13 bosses, starting with an ancient guardian; raid groups choose between multiple paths across the mountain, above and below ground.
Onyxia's Lair — 40 players
Deep in Dustwallow Marsh. Onyxia's three-phase encounter leans on heavy fire damage — bring fire resistance. Every raider needs the Drakefire Amulet in their inventory (no need to equip it) to enter.
The attunement
The Drakefire Amulet comes from a long faction-specific questline: it begins in the Burning Steppes ("Dragonkin Menace"), runs through Blackrock Depths to free Marshal Windsor, continues with "The Great Masquerade" in Stormwind, and ends in Upper Blackrock Spire with the Blood of the Black Dragon Champion from General Drakkisath. Start early and bring friends for the elite quests.
