The WoW: Forever beta is now closed. Blizzard thanked everyone who joined the last five weeks of playtesting, data gathering, bug reporting and feedback.

What happens next

  • The team is spending a few short days on priority issues and on the game service itself, so that everything is in good shape for launch day.
  • Character creation opens on Tuesday, October 27 — you pick your ruleset and reserve the name you want long before launch.
  • Launch is on November 4. Login times by region are listed in a separate article.
  • The WoW: Forever Podcast continues — the fifth episode is an End of Beta special.

With the beta offline, there are no live servers to play on until launch day and no new test builds.

What this means for the stats on this site

  • The beta servers are shut down, so NearbySpy has nothing new to collect: the last snapshots stay as they are until Forever goes live.
  • On November 4 collection resumes automatically — the addon sends a fresh snapshot the next time you leave the game or type /reload.
  • Statistics will start again from scratch: launch means new characters on new rulesets, not a continuation of beta data.
  • The world list on the site will be updated for the new rulesets after launch.
